Summit Racing sells the after market Ididit brand, and I believe the Flaming River brand. They are available for column or floor shift etc. Check their site.

The 2nd and 3rd gen columns will physically interchange. They have different levers where the linkage hooks up for the column/key lock

you have to Call Flaming River they have them for one our members that passed away had one .......Billy Ray were you here for the Hydro King experience

But also floor shift columns from Cutlass will work you just have to change the blinker switch inside the column so it will plug into the Chevy Harness, I know thats what's in mine

I just saw you were talking about manual transmission columns. The pics I put up are for auto trans.

I googled for some answers to this, and found that at least on the 78-81 G-body cars, the difference is that the manual trans steering column does not have the lever in the engine bay end. There is a lever near the key that you move to release the key and unlock the steering wheel. The different construction changes the dimensions of the column slightly.

I've never seen a manual trans column for our generation of vehicle, but I know they exist. Maybe someone who has one can enlighten us.

Someone needs to bust out a hollander interchange manual because there are 10 times more Camaro manual columns than we have in our cars.

There is a guy that just does GM columns; Randys steering columns. Maybe google him and he may have a rebuilt one ready to go.

It's funny because I have a column from an '86 automatic car sitting on my bench waiting to become manual transmission only. My plan was to lock it in the park position and remove the shift rod from the column.

Thanks -

I put a 1969 buick column in my 77 olds cutlass the only thing i had to do was adjust the shifting linkage and change the brackets that bolt to the bottom of the dash and the bracket that bolts to the fire wall

I had a '73 Chevelle 3-speed, column shift. Those Chevy column shifters really sucked when they were a bit worn out.....
