Are they supposed to cover the whole door?

Seems like the ones OPGI sell are only covering the lower half. That's also how I installed mine:

The originals are a black paper & very thin. Still have mine in good condition. Does the insulation go over the plastic w/ the OPG product? I bet we could make these out of Polyethylene film and that funny looking carpet underlayment & just cut to the contours. Idea

Yeah, that's what I did. Cut a plastic film and put butyl tape around it.

Originals go all the way up, but are paper like Mali said. Yours will probably work better than the original design.


Idea Wonder how that heat shrink film that covers windows would work? Not actual shrink wrap, but the stuff that they sell at Walmart & you hit with a dryer to seal tight against the window. I'm only saying this because if that plastic isn't tight then you're gonna be dealing with some annoying noises coming from your doors.

That's a good point, I assume you are thinking about air passing through making the plastic move?

Had to leave some slack in it in order to clamp on the door handle. Think I'll make one that covers the whole door next weekend.

I think they were put there for moisture and noise also. The fabric was attached to the hump shaped metal piece that the arm rest screws into for insulation's sake, that piece is all torn up but I'm hoping that the one on the drivers door is more in tact so I can make a new one. I think it's only like 1/4" thick, if that.
