i took it off by prying it very carefully with a screwdriver.

they sell a tool that does it nicely. Its probably real cheap cause its just stamped out sheet metal that has a bunch of hooks and such with a tiny bend in the handle.

How do you remove the trim from the opera window (rear quarter window)? It is not held on by clamps, so it should be easy. I've located a set but don't want to ruin the trim, so I'm looking for tips on how to remove this. Is a special tool necessary?

They "snap" together where they over lap. I used a towel and a small screwdriver and got them loose. from there it just took a lot of wiggling to get them out. Be careful that they arent stuck in the glass glue.

Thanks Jimi! I got the window trim removal tool a couple days ago so now I'll be able to work on that when I get that urge.

Man a tool I will never be without is a plain old butter knife. That has helped me in alot of these types of situations, and the same goes for getting those window crank clips out.

I use to use those thin shop rags and slide it behind the crank. Then take each end of the rag and slide it back and forth. It'd always pop right off!
