Re: ball joint bolt torque?
Take it to the jackwagons that did an(emergency) oil change for me once! Took me 10 f-ing minutes to crack the drain plug loose the next time I changed it! I wanted to go back and shoot those c*ck juggling thunder c*nts for putting it on so damn tight!!!!!!!!!

No offense, but that's what you get for letting someone else touch your pride and joy.

Re: ball joint bolt torque?
It wasn't the 74 Monte. It was the 98, and its NOT my pride and joy. It was an 'emergency' change, if you will. I was 70 miles away from home at my grandma's place for the week, I was a hair over 3000 miles since the last change, and something told me to check the oil when I got there, and it was very low. Didn't want to drive home with it that low.

Re: ball joint bolt torque?
So... you couldn't have put a half/full quart in it? I don't think 70 miles + (a hair over 3K) constitutes an "emergency" change.
But hey, to each their own.

Re: ball joint bolt torque?
I don't like to go over 3000. Mainly becasue it has aloud rod knock when it's cold and I want to take care of it to make it last as long as I can.
Go a head and read my signature again if you don't like how I maintain MY car.

Re: ball joint bolt torque?
You also live in Arizona where you can drive old cars everyday and not worry about road salt and a lot of rain. If I could drive my Monte or my Plymouth everyday, think I'd have something that new? I would not.

Re: ball joint bolt torque?
I won't even put a garden hose on my car to wash it. It hasn't been wet in 2 years. Lol.
I don't want water getting in the rocker moldings or topand rust it out

Re: ball joint bolt torque?
Well, since it only goes out on nice days, it doesn't get DIRTY dirty. Just dusty being in my shop. I use a California Car Duster and Turtle Wax ICE detail spray before shows. Looks like she was just washed and waxed. I do the same to my Plymouth.

Re: ball joint bolt torque?
It could use a wax job. Hasn't been done in a year. I don't use a buffer though. The original paint on the hood is getting thin...

Re: ball joint bolt torque?
ive lived in virginia too and id still do the same thing u want to get rid of road grime and salt wash it off. if you own a car drive it as much as possible share it with the world, lifes too short to let something rot in a garage.also letting a car sit is more detremental to a car then being in salt and road grime.drive the whoa nelly out of your car they were only made once and with the dumbass kids out there nowadays with there rice rockets and v-tec who dont even know chevelle was made after 72. to them i have one thing to say schools in session
p.s. real car guys dont care what the weather is. if they want to take there car out then they will. a car isnt bought its built
