coolant leaking on manifold
i just got the High Rise today from Limey (really nice one too thanks Limey!) anyway. I installed it today.
put in a new thermostat just because they are cheap and worth the extra little bit, put on a new water neck (got rid of the stupid leaky chrome one for a stock style) and reinstalled it (gaskets looked great) and i tighted it up then squeezed the upper radiator hose a few times to get a lil pressure and it leaked coolant on the sides of the manifold so i tighted it up more and it helped but it still leaks coolant in one spot between the first two bolts on the passanger side.
-i know its not the wrong manifold it fits great but i was thinking that the gaskets on the sides (head sides) are maybe molded into form to the other manifold making it leak? so you think could new gaskets fix it? or a thicker gasket? the manifold walls are really really thick

Get new gaskets & don't forget to use silicone.

Re: coolant leaking on manifold
why would you attempt reusing old gaskets? intake gaskets are cheap and then, you only have to do it once.

Next time you take off the housing, rub it on the ground too help flaten out the gasket serface. Use two gaskets rtv'ed together and blue rtv.

Re: coolant leaking on manifold
Sounds like a lesson learned about re-using an old gasket. The only gaskets usually re-usable are the good, thick, silicone rocker cover gaskets, which work great for sealing.
