Rago wrote:Also wanted to add that Musclecar TV is building a Buick Century. It had a rotted top & they cut one off of a Pontiac LeMans to replace it, so yeah the rooflines are all the same.

This is true. I classify as both about 98% of the time.

I remember seeing this article and it made me wish I had kept mine. Mine had the same nosepiece, I can't remember if the dash had the same style gauges or not. I do remember that the interior was originally some kind of tan and some previous tried painting everything red inside and the red was flaking/rubbing off so it wasn't very nice to look at.
The wheels were similar to Ansen sprints.
Exterior-wise, the only difference between mine and the magazine car was the quarter window.
I do remember that the only major criteria I had before I bought it was that the A/C must work. The malibu was missing the compressor and this was Florida.
It had a Buick 350 that was missing a bolt in the oil pump because the threads were stripped out, but it didn't leak and it still had good pressure so I never fixed it.
I rebuilt the carburetor about 5 times, changed spark plugs and wires, cap, rotor, etc. trying to cure a miss at low speed and idle. It ran awsome on the highway. I came to the conclusion that it must have had a bad valve. Also never got fixed.
My wife hated that car. I loved it. It was sacrificed.

Re: Some old photos
Found some more old photos of the 74.
This is in Jacksonville, Fl. I think this is before we repainted it. It was a Teal blue at first.
In front of my in-laws house
This shows the color better. It was painted a 92 or 93 Dodge Electric Blue
This is the winter of 93 while I was deployed. In case you are wondering, my wife came home instead of living by herself in Florida while I was on a 6-month deployment.

Re: Some old photos
I can't remember the name or model # of the rim, but I ordered them from Western Rim or Western Wheel back in '88 or '89. Google didn't bring up the manufacturer name, so I don't know if they are still around or if another company bought them out.
Back then I liked the BBS wheel look, but couldn't afford them, so I got these. They were 15x8.5 all around with 245/60 on front and 255/60 on back.

Thanks. I like the BBS look, but I wouldn't mind 17's & dropped if I ever went that route. Something about the black centers & polished lip just looks right on that car.
