its called a lock plate remover should be around 15 bucks to rent from autozone and if you rent it you can pay the 15 and use the tool then bring it back the same day and get your money back

Re: i really hate electrical
should i just get one of these then?
http://www.opgi.com/product.asp?catmainid=1&topcatid=29&chapterid=29&grpcode=12232&ProdCode=CH22359&yearrange=
that way i can use this for adjusting the valves too...or does the ignition switch have to work to use this?
it looks like it just hooks one end to the battery and one end to the starter right?

Re: i really hate electrical
That is exactly what you need to see if your ignition switch is bad.
If you want to start the engine, make sure that you are getting full voltage to the distributor. You can ensure this by running a wire temporarily from the positive terminal to the battery terminal of the distributor.
Be sure that your fluids are topped off, tranny in park, wheels chocked, etc.
You actually hook up to the two small posts of the solenoid, and yes, this tool makes adjusting valves a breeze. It takes the place of the ignition switch as far as turning the starter over is concerned.

Re: i really hate electrical
Had a ASE Mechanic come over and help, got the starter wired up correctly it just like i said above the brown wires needed swapped and one was kinda crap, so it cranks over smoothly. Plus the electric fan works great and the fuel pump has power but it dosent seem to work, either it is really quiet without gas in it, it is stuck from sitting for 2 years and yea i hit it a few times and nothing or it is just bad, it tries to go but it just kinda clicks and thats it.

Re: i really hate electrical
the fuel pump was siezed by rust i cleaned it out and put the wires directly on the battery while holding the pump straight up and down and it sounds normal then when i mounted it back up to the frame sideways it sounded like a stater when your battery is low clickclickrattleypoo. lol, and the way you mount these fuel pumps isnt suppose to matter so i think i just need to get a new one and it is mounted with the IN side toward the gas tank and OUT side to the engine.
