For Sale - Spirit of America El camino 1974
This would be a unique opportunity to add a rare Spirit of America El Camino to one's collection of G3's. Cool back-story on how this Elkie came to fruition. Strange how, aside from the color combo and pinstripes (which presumably could have been special ordered on any Elkie), there isn't any badging or special features that I can see to convey to the world what exactly it is. Doesn't mention how many were actually made, though.

There is usually a decal on the lower front fender under the emblems, but this car doesnt have it. But it appears to have all the other tell-tale signs of a Spirit car.

I agree it is missing the fender decal. this one has pin stripping down the hood and below the top bed trim that other examples online do not have. The owner never states that the car was ever repainted and the fender decal was removed. Kind of seems he is pushing the theme a lot with all of the flags. I would be skeptical.

If it was sold with 3000 miles as a demonstrator, and he has driven it over 2000 miles to shows, why does the odo show 3332?

Heritage Center info for the Impala SOA on p 17 in 1974 Chevrolet. This may have been a dealer option rather than a factory option but within guidelines. The fender decal may be a model specific feature. It is documented only for the Vega and Nova.

Re: For Sale - Spirit of America El camino 1974
Just found it listed on hemmings, and it does state that it has been repainted, so that would explain the differences in the pinstripes and the lack of the decal. Also noticed that the classic model should have wheel well moldings but once again with the limited availability of them and a repaint, they could have been removed. So I guess it’s possible that it might be authentic. A new buyer just has to justify the price for a regular El Camino with the hopes that it is real.

The strong likelihood is that the SOA was a dealer option. So this would be the reason there are no production numbers. Given the almost certain probability of repainting over the course of 50 years I think exterior indices are not worth worrying about. There were some interior features as well and these are probably a better bet for verification.
