Notice it's one of those unusual swivel bucket column shift cars!

Re: 73 Laguna
Yeah, my first 1973 Chevelle SS 350 car had swivel buckets and no console, a lady ordered that way. I had the chevy dealer order the console and shifter and install it for me. Strange to see buckets and a column shifter. The 1994, and 1995 Impala SS was like that. 1996 they finally got it right with a 160 MPH speedometer, and GM quit building the car!

Re: 73 Laguna
I owned a 1996 Impala SS for 15 years.....180,000 miles. Very much a trouble free car that gave me good service. Then someone pulled out in front of me....T-BONED them.
Bought it back from the insurance company. Bought an X-police car 9C1. Pulled the complete front end needed to repair the SS. Parted out the 9C1 and made money.
My brother bought the SS from me and continued driving. He has sold it since.

Re: 73 Laguna
My Grandparents bought a 1996 Impala SS right off the dealership floor. The Impala story is as follows- A guy in a modified 1992 Caprice was on his way home from a beer bottling plant in Michigan, and two employees were so impressed by the car, they talked to the guy at a red light and asked him if he could bring his car to let their boss Jim Perkins at Chevrolet look at it. He came out on Monday and Jim Perkins and John Moss looked at it, and decided to do a Caprice 9C1 car aka Impala SS for the Las Vegas auto show. They did a black one in 1993 and so many people at the show were so impressed, they wanted to order one, so Chevy produced one for 1994, in black only. In 1995, two colors were added, Green Gray and Dark Cherry.
