How do you like the 17" rallys ?? Wish was closer the Second SE needs some wheels the rims that were on have rust thru from being buried up to the two bottom bolts in the grass after 20 years of sitting in a field ( floors also LOL )

I really like the 17’s. They look even better in person. I probably need a little more sidewall and be 2”” lower all around. Someone before me must’ve put some taller or stiffer springs on it. My original ‘76 that I bought new never sat that high. Anyway , I feel like I made a good choice in wheels. Kinda period correct but custom at the same time

Thinking about 2” drop spindles in front. Would I have to change the springs too ??

I believe so BUT I havent done a drop with spindles just in past used lowering springs on front they were 2" Impala SS drop springs only lowered it around 1 and 3/8"

It is not necessary to change the springs with the 2" drop spindles. That was the premise , drop the car 2" and you still retain all the steering geometry. Basically , no re-alignment would be necessary.

But , if your running 40+ year old springs...change them.

Anyone can "chime" in if I'm off.......

I'm with you -- as I understood it, the whole point of drop spindles was so that you could get a lower stance without changing springs.

That's the Only reason I was thinking new springs is the age of springs if never replaced I just assumed you would replace the tired springs as well
