Mcarlo the Budman didn't have to go too far for it either. It was down in Nebraska.

Jeff, I still think you were closer lol! Hawk, thanks this is going to be a fun car. Put Vette rims and new tires on it and currently carpet and headliner. Interior pieces are excellent. New weatherstrip ordered and putting half vinyl back on. May sound nuts but I'm leaving the paint as is on this one.

Re: I have named her "The Beast"
You're probably right about it being closer to me, but it would have been a toss up. lol I like the idea of leaving the paint the way it I Stan. I'm going to leave mine the way it is, not even buff out the dead paint, for at least the next couple of years too. That's because my budget doesn't allow me to paint it right now, and because I kind of like the thought and look of it being sorta rat roddish ? The only thing I'm going to fix on the paint this spring is where I took off the side moulding and have to grind down the little posts. I have found a paint at NAPA that matches real close if I use a semi gloss clear.
With the latest addition to your collection of Chevelle's Stan, you won't have to worry about washing it much, drive it even if it's raining, drive it on gravel roads if you want, and just plain have fun driving it.
Take care Stan,
Jeff....

Re: I have named her "The Beast"
Driving these G3s is really what it's all about. Been driving my '75 Elco quite a bit lately. Two weeks ago, I went to the local gas station at 12:30 in the AM, snow coming down, high wind blowing snow etc. And my Elco handled just the like all the G3 Elcos I had for years. And I had replaced the headlamps with performance bulbs, and rewired them with heavier gauge wire and relays. Super bright now !! I felt right at home !! My Malibu has never seen a winter though !
So, you can enjoy driving the Beast & not be concerned about fit & finish

The state uses salt brine now as well as rock salt here. that stuff eats your car alive. I dont even want to open the garage door. My G8 isnt going out in it either until a good rain. Enjoy your cars guys, just keep them washed.

Just as well, Jeff. Can't help but notice all the dried road chemical in the middle and sides of the roads around here. You'll kick up a caustic dust cloud if you wander outside the center of the lanes. I literally wiped off the dust on my daily driver after a road trip west of the cities.

Very true Steve. I drive all over the cities for work and man, are the roads white. I saw one parking lot that is black top that was completely white from the chemicals they put on it.
