Soon..off to the Body/Resto Shop
Late last year the paint/roof of my Malibu developed some issues.
The paint split like the Red Sea from the middle of the driver side, along the windshield molding,
and up about a third of the way on the passenger side (a big wide U).
Took my time and found a good Body/resto shop to bring it too (asked around at all the local car shows).
Then...my wife asked if I ever considered adding a second color to my all black 1976 Malibu.
I never thought about it until she mentioned it, so I have a few ideas cooking.

I agree, but after thinking about it and exploring some ideas.....I decided that I want my car to be more than just
another all black/solid color car at the car/cruise night shows.

There is a guy on You Tube that had a all black Camaro and he painted Candy Green flames on it.

Charcoal and Black is a Nice combo. If you keep the top half Black and the bottom charcoal. Maybe like the laguna was painted. There are so Many Nice paint themes but unfortunatly only one car. I have had the same problem when restoring my cars, what to chose is almost as hard as restoring the car itself. Or maybe a Black cherry that looks Black at Night but has a different look in the Sun.

Re: Soon..off to the Body/Resto Shop
Unless one has only one particular color they want to paint a car from the beginning, the color choice can come down to the very last thing one chooses for their project. Even if that project is a long term one. It's a tough decision to make because once the paint is bought and put on the car, you're stuck with it. And paint and materials are NOT cheap. I wanted to paint mine Audi Tri-coat pearl white because I have a gallon of the material left over from my last car, but my wife said NO! We both are starting to think that our car, I guess my car turned into our car, ( ) should stay the color it is. So I have a few hundred dollars worth of paint that I don't need anymore. Or until I find something else to put it on. haha

I had a white 73 elco that i repainted when i restored it. I Put a coat of gold pearl on top of the white. It was a totally different experience when it Came out in the Sun. It was white but had a Nice gold shimmer to it. I liked it so much i thought about painting my next project the same.

Nope.....something else.
I have already chosen the design, so Lets make this interesting........
Design contest:
Search the internet for the design you think I chose and post the picture (It will be on a 73-77 Chevelle/Malibu).
First one to find it wins (not sure what).
1 post only per member (otherwise Limey might go crazy)
Hint: the design you find on the internet could be a different color than what I am using (primary color will be black).

Or you could go and put a Black vinyl roof on it like i did. I always loved the vinyl roof and have it on my chevelle. It was not all that difficult to put it on. Only thing is you need to remove all the glass and window trim, and find a set of vinyl top mouldings. I know i am most likely alone in Liking the vinyl top but i do.
