Re: The interchangability thread
Kick panels, "A" pillar trims, windshield headliner trim (maybe the rest of the headliner trim depending on model).
I always look for good outer door glass beltline trim/wipers. They are the same.

Also...grab power door locks, power window hardware w/wiring & switches if available. That's all interchangeable.

Re: The interchangability thread
So today i drove 2 hours one way and it was worth it i got the front and rear bumpers in fair condition for my 73 chevelle. I checked out the 74 olds cutlass and one window is down so door panel gone. The plastics look good though and they are blue. The dash looks pretty good and I am thinking seriously about swapping it into my chevelle. Would this work how much trouble if so??

Re: The interchangability thread
Thinking of swaping to side sport mirrors, just dont like the prices i keep running into. Is there such a thing as a remote mirror for the passenger side or they are all manuel?
Anyone know if 80's caprice sport mirrors are the same as ours?

Re: The interchangability thread
If I remember correctly I remember seeing a remote pass side sport mirror on my buddies laguna in the 80's. The remote was to the left of the dash center vents where the dash bumps out for the cluster area. As for the 80's mirrors, it would all depend on the "angle" of the outer door skin. Since the mirror bolts flush to the door the angle on the bottom of the mirror will probably be different and make the mirror look like they were bent either up or down while mounted.

Re: The interchangability thread
Yep...got a RH remote sport mirror on my Monte. And you are correct with the location of the remote.
I'm not entirely certain an '80's mirror would fit correctly, either. I do know that for our era of cars, the plastic spacer between the mirror base and the door will vary in thickness to compensate for the angle of the door skin. For example, Cutlass and Century/Regal use the same spacer (pt #1702045). Chevelle/Malibu use a different one (pt #9874835). Whereas the Chevelle spacer has only a slight beveled angle...the Cutlass/Century one has a much steeper bevel.

Re: The interchangability thread
There was a remote passenger sport mirror for the Grand Prix for our years -- I saw one once on eBay. Extremely rare piece (i.e. good luck finding it) and still cable driven.
FWIW, if you are inclined to take your sport mirrors apart and do a little surgery, the electric mirror motors from a 98 LeSabre can be retrofited into them, and the electric mirror switch from a 98-02 Camaro will fit in the driver's door panel escutcheon (at least on the Monte, I assume the others are similar). I can provide the wiring diagram.

Re: The interchangability thread
That's what i would love to do, power mirrors. But at $100+ for just one, i rather not risk it. Thanks for the info ThatFnThing

Re: The interchangability thread
O.J...what are you wanting to pay for a pair of sport mirrors? I've got a nice set picked out on a '73 Regal for some "hun-yuk" in Turkey who now seems to have vanished into cyber space. It's a manual RH. I've got one correct plastic spacer and could easily get the other.
