garage pics
Time to finally start planning my new post building.
36X60 is the way Im leaning.
Anyone build a garage or barn, and want to post some pics.
Im hoping to do as much work as possible, with help from friends, and an Amish crew.
30K is my budget.

Re: garage pics
About 3 years ago I had a pole barn built. 32x30. Just for redoing one car at a time. I keep nothing in there for the house or yard. I have a shed for all that. Best thing I did was radiant heat in the floor. Even heat and no air movement when I am painting.
I opted for no lift. It would just get in my way.
I have a large compressor and pipe air throughout. Did the same with electrical.

Re: garage pics
The first three tools I buy,will be a lift,tire machine,and spin balancer.
Im thinking they will bring me a few side jobs.
What did the finished building cost you?
Thanks.

Re: garage pics
Pole barn without slab. 12500
Concrete slab. 2600
Radiant. 500. Did it myself
Gutters. 500
I also insulated walls with 2" of polyiso board and ceiling with 4" polyiso board. 300. Bought it reclaimed.
Electrical service and wire switches and lights. 500. Did it myself.
Epoxy coated floor. 300. Did it myself.
I also ended up dry walling the inside walls. Not for looks but to help seal it up with a vapor barrier and add a fire rating. Polyiso likes to burn. I'm not a big fan of fire!

Re: garage pics
Right now I need to get my vehicles, out of the elements.
The neighbors do not enjoy my car hobby.
Out buildings cannot exceed 1000 sq ft,so I may need to attach,to my current structure,or pray for a variance.
How high did you build your walls?
Any storage up top?

Re: garage pics
I went with 10 foot ceiling. I can put light objects up there but prefer not to. That would just turn into a collection of crap I don't need.
I absolutely love my garage. It is about 250' behind my house. I go out there everyday and sometimes for the entire day.
I added a few items to make it more enjoyable. 1980s Pepsi machine. 1960s cigarette machine. Nice work bench. Lots of lights!! Â Automatic door opener for the overhead door. Some strong metal shelving. Central vacuum also.
I automated the lighting and heat. Heat stays at 55 all the time from October til April. Lights come on upon entry and I manually shut them off when I leave.
I originally planned on adding A/C. I have the unit just never got to installing it yet. We are thinking about moving so I may have to start over...
