Clock Delete? 73 SS 350 on Ebay
This is kinda cool, never seen it before
Here's the car, looks like it's going to sell ($12,800 so far)

Never seen that before, either. Wait...those chrome trim rings around the gauges aren't stock. Me thinks somebody installed some aftermarket parts?

I was wondering about the gauge also. Is the vent in the center of the dash correct for a car that has a "non-a/c" control unit.
Nice car though!

Yep...center vents in all cars. It's the right side vent that is missing on non-a/c cars.

Yes, that is cool. Never seen it before. Also never seen those chrome "siler" rings around the gauges. I'd like to see the emblem on the right side of the dash.

Both outer vents actually. There is a coin compartment where the sideways one on the drivers side would be & the pass side one is non existent.Mcarlo77 wrote:Yep...center vents in all cars. It's the right side vent that is missing on non-a/c cars.

He's missing the passenger side bullet mirror. Other items he has on ebay are a 73 tail panel and a double hump crossmember.

Hopefully it sells and he gets paid. Looks like a lot of false price increases by people with no rating.

It probably had a single chrome (non bullet) mirror originally?Joe73 wrote:He's missing the passenger side bullet mirror. Other items he has on ebay are a 73 tail panel and a double hump crossmember.

Re: Clock Delete? 73 SS 350 on Ebay
SS package comes standard with dual bullet mirrors. Another thing I noticed is that he has a wood grain dash bezel. 73 SS dash bezels are black only.
For me, that survivor car, with that mileage, the little quirks I've noticed along with the parts he is listing in other auctions, I'd like to see some documentation for the SS package to pay that price. And I'd like to see the right side dash emblem.

Why would you like to see the emblem?

Re: Clock Delete? 73 SS 350 on Ebay
There were 5 different dash emblems for the 73 cars (chevelle, lagunas and el caminos). Each "package" option had a different emblem. Since its a low mileage, all original, survivor, the dash emblem could shed some light on the model of the car.

Re: Clock Delete? 73 SS 350 on Ebay
It's missing the 6 vent rims and mini sombrero center caps. With a car this old they could have gone y the wayside long ago. No way to tell it's a real SS 350 without a build sheet though. No pics & no mention of the code on the engine pad. It is a bit suspicious.

Yeah I didn't notice it has those chrome wheel vintiques rally wheels with the flat cap. Never thought the OE rally's looked good enough to buy a aftermarket chrome version....but that's just me.

Re: Clock Delete? 73 SS 350 on Ebay
Its crazy the small differences that may identify a clone. My car is a SS I have the Car Lable-Dealer copyJoe73 wrote:There were 5 different dash emblems for the 73 cars (chevelle, lagunas and el caminos). Each "package" option had a different emblem. it shows Vin # selling dealer, order number, every option code along with discription and price.
The first call out is 1AD37 Malibu -- V8 ($3091.45) this seams strainge to me because I havent ever seen a Malibu emblem
on a 73 SS except once in a paper ad, it was on the front fender below the SS emblem. Most SS owners I have talked to say here car isn't a Malibu. My research of the 1AD37 shows all SS were malibu's.
By the way the Z15 SS Equipment cost a whole extra $242, My dash emblem is Chrome border woodgrain and says Cheverolet

Re: Clock Delete? 73 SS 350 on Ebay
It's funny when you search for parts most vendors list 73 as "Chevelle" and 74-77 as "Malibu, Malibu Classic", etc. Some also list the Laguna as a separate model as well. It's a pain in the ARSE to search some parts. They are all Chevelle's weather they're a Chevelle SS, Chevelle Laguna, Chevelle Malibu Deluxe, Malibu Classic ... Drives me nuts.

Re: Clock Delete? 73 SS 350 on Ebay
Looks like they simply painted (probably silver/chrome model paint with a small brush, easy enough with a steady hand) the raised area around the gage,Mcarlo77 wrote:Never seen that before, either. they painted silver around the heater control also, the same raised area, my SS doesn't have this. Looks good though, probably just a little customizing.
The bezal mounting screws are Torx heads so you know its been apart.
