Re: video of Project talladega PUKE PUKE
Badbis that has to be the worst representation of our cars ever he has the front end so low it drags on concrete as he freaking laughs about it...........and his words ............ LOOK AT THE POOL OF WATER HERE IN THE TRUNK I WILL HAVE TO FIX THAT SOMEDAY AND EMITS ANOTHER LOUD LAUGH ABOUT IT ............any moron that puts as much money into a car and doesn't fix the little things that will cause the worst damage doesn't need to have a hot rod let alone represent a magazine for hot rodder's.................. I HAVE SINCE CANCELED MY SUBSCRIPTION TO THAT MAGAZINE.
I hope any further work that Popular Hot Roddin Magazine does Mr J. Hunkins will have nothing to do with!!!!

Re: video of Project talladega PUKE PUKE
it wasn't the front end that dragged- it was the crappy home made exhaust that was on the car when they got it.
the water in the trunk probably came in around the hood pins they put back there- inside of the weatherstripping. it shouldn't be that hard to figure out some sort of a seal for that.
other than the paint and wheels- that was the car in mostly stock configuration. and we all can agree that "stock" on these cars isn't exactly impressive.
i'd like to see a video just like this, but after they put the new drivetrain and suspension in it. i'd hope that the exhaust doesn't still drag like that any more.

Re: video of Project talladega PUKE PUKE
well nova it would not have dragged at all if he would not have cut the front springs by hand instead of using the correct lowering springs /shock asorber set up

He really likes those hood pins. Maybe he should put some on the doors! That's a racy look!! (That's sarcasm btw)

Re: video of Project talladega PUKE PUKE
That car looks like...better not say it. The car could be made real nice yet, if it had a nice glossy light blue metalic paint job on it and a new set of springs. That 400 is a good engine, sometimes I wish I had stayed with that engine instead of going big block. Well, not really, but its a thought. JB

Re: video of Project talladega PUKE PUKE
I dont think it suppose to be taken serious. Its a joke than the car get full roll cage and built suspension and drive train and rebuilt engine. I'm sure they are doing this for just to get people going than they do a total rebuild on it. Next episode the car is built up and than they show how they did everything and tell you their sponsors.

have you seen the exhaust setup that was on it when they started? not exactly the best engineered setup ever.Limey aka Maligoon wrote:well nova it would not have dragged at all if he would not have cut the front springs by hand instead of using the correct lowering springs /shock asorber set up

Re: video of Project talladega PUKE PUKE
You should not take a comment I made in another post and start a topic with it............I did not comment on anything draging or leaking all i said is it looks horrible and no amount of drivetrain, exaust, or anything is going to change that because it looks ruined !!!!!! a complete resto would be needed and yes I like the stock S-3 and do not feel that they need a major change!!!!!!

Re: video of Project talladega PUKE PUKE
I KNOW YOU DIDNT SAY THAT BADBIS I WAS THE ONE THAT SAID IT NOT YOU ................I I just thought it needed its own topic because it looked that bad after all the hype of it in the magazine i was very disappointed with his build, and true it wouldn't take much to make it right, well minus the new hood and trunk, that would be needed from all the hood pins.badbiscayne66 wrote:You should not take a comment I made in another post and start a topic with it............I did not comment on anything draging or leaking all i said is it looks horrible

Re: video of Project talladega PUKE PUKE
Looks to me like someone tried to do a new retro build "cup car". Not bad but not all that great either. In my opinion do it like an original paint scheme and driver if your going to do it. Remember our cars were originally built for the sport of NASCAR WINSTON CUP RACING, so without that we wouldn't have our Lagunas. By the way Limey all cup cars had hood and trunk pins they still do, just no big holes cut in the middle of hood ( HA HA ) Just ribbin ya

Re: video of Project talladega PUKE PUKE
Now that's how you build a Nascar tribute car! It's clean, simple, and it's not a huge sell out!

Re: video of Project talladega PUKE PUKE

Re: video of Project talladega PUKE PUKE
You know what, I'm gonna say it. The F&F franchise could have done a better job of representing our cars than PHR. That's how much I hate this build. He spent $4,000 on paint???!!!! Looks like the can of Duplicolor begs to differ! Why couldn't Car Craft got ahold of one of these during the Freiburger days? Now THAT would have been a cool build. Remember El Cheapo?
"90% of a car's traction comes from the tires..." you just put a set of Nitto's with white letters on your car & you can hit the track!
Limey, the springs WERE proper Global West lowering springs that they cut to go even lower .

Re: video of Project talladega PUKE PUKE
i respect the car for what it is, but i admit that there was a lot that could have been different.
i think Car Craft would have done a much better job with the car- they would have used a couple dozen cans of Krylon instead of getting a professionally crappy paint looking paint job done, there wouldn't have been so many spendy aftermarket pieces used, and they probably wouldn't have named it after the race version of the Furd Torino- even tho Hunkins claimed it was named after the track. the Laguna was already named after a race track, so the name was kind of superfluous, anyways.
