My 75 Monte carlo
Sadly i've lost a good percentage of my earlier pictures of working on the car so i'll be uploading what i'm currently doing this year and the years to come. To give you guys a good idea of how the car was, the metal under the landau roof was almost totally gone and nothing much left to work with so I got to work on that right away with a little metal work and SOME body filler. Replaced the front end except for the bumber. The interior was totally trashed the dash was ripped out and so was everything else, the monte was originally with blue interior but I swapped everything out with NOS and aftermarket black interior pieces. Here are some pictures from the work i've done over the summer and some that are where it's at currently. A lot more pictures to come!

Re: My 75 Monte carlo
Here's what it looked like when I first started, my grandmother drove it and hit someone a couple years back unfortunately
and here is how the monte looks currently, planning on getting a new landau top, peeling off the plastidip and going to start sanding her down soon and prepping her for paint, still not sure of what color i'm looking for though

Re: My 75 Monte carlo
I just wonder what the other car looked like after the well built Monte plowed into them. JB

Re: My 75 Monte carlo
I don't think I ever knew that they made vinyl tops in colors other than black and white until recently. I am sure that I have saw them, but never really paid attention.
Car looks good. Are you going for an accurate restoration?

Not sure what i'm going for really lol, i'm looking to restore it to an extent but I don't want so much chrome trim on the doors, bigger tires in the rear and looking to convert the rear end to disc brakes and maybe a posi, so not really an accurate restoration but something loud and fun to cruise in during the summer.

Re: My 75 Monte carlo
Well the other car was a 1996 white honda civic, braked checked my grandparents on the freeway (typical Seattle drivers) slamming on your brakes going about 70mph, the car behind you is a tank, your going to have a bad time! In other words the honda was totaled and the Monte needed a grill, headlight bezel, and header panel, the bumper was un-phased surprisingly, wish they had taken pictures of the other car, Don't know why I didn't take any when we went to go help them out.JB2wheeler wrote:I just wonder what the other car looked like after the well built Monte plowed into them. Re: My 75 Monte carlo
Needs a 12 Bolt Posi with 411s or close to those IMO. Mini Tub with Wide Street Tires (Drag radials) and maybe all a Gear Vendors Overdrive in the Tranny to help you with freeway cruising and milage with the low gearing. Along with A 3800ish Stall, Vette Sevos, shift kit, transbrake, the works. then start on the motor. Take off emissions crap later? lol Im bored
