Re: 77 Malibu Classic frame off resto
Sorry I have not updated here is a few weeks. Been crazy busy with other issues. But I did get the vinyl top installed and headliner. So I have to get pictures. The top was not available in medium green so I got white and had a paint store mix up some green from a piece of the old top. The color match is great and I painted it last week. I'll get some pics soon. I started putting the interior in and I have been fighting with the trans dipstick, I cant get a stock one to fit, so I am buying a lokar. Lets see add the throttle cable, air intake hoses, radiator hoses, exhaust, driveshaft. I have a lot to do in the next couple weeks. But its fun.

What trany are you running again?
I used this on my 4l60E it worked great and it locks the dip stick on the tube.

Re: 77 Malibu Classic frame off resto
I bought one but it seemed to want to come around the pass side of the motor and the AC was in the way. I kept tweaking it but it started to look ugly with little crimps in the tube so I gave up. And there is no room behind the motor cause the wiring is all back there. I guess a Lokar will at least go wherever I want it. Its just gonna take an hour to fill the thing. I might paint the Lokar tube to make it look sorta stock. I worry too much.
Oh I'm running a 4l80e

Forgot you have AC unit. I don't as I used a vintage A/C unit all under dash. Check ebay for lokar style tube I used the on the first set up. Takes for ever to fill and no good full mark on stick so count qts as you add then make a full mark your self.

Except for hooking up the AC, I am done. It drives real nice, still needs a little tuning but its very close.
