Not sure what to make of this auction. The more I read about it, the more it's obvious that the majority of their cars sat outside in the weeds for decades. We all know what that does to cars. Still, I've also read they are expecting upwards of 8-10,000 people to converge on this little town. I'm wondering what they still had in NOS parts?

Check this video out it explains alot. You can also Google Pierce Nebraska and listen to the full story. He shut his dealership down in 1986. Closed the doors and walked. Him and his wife are 90 and 92 now and decided to sell stuff.

From what I read he did not sell holdover cars. He just parked them inside or out and hung onto them. A lot of stuff may have set in a field for years but only have 20 some miles on them.

I live about 90 miles from Pierce, so been hearing alot of stories related to this Lambrecht. For years he refused to even sell his trade ins, he would drive them out to a near by farm and park them in the trees. After he retired, folks would inquire to buy out his parts inventory, but he would not part with any thing......Also heard that Jay Leno was aloud to purchase a couple late 50's vettes prior to the release of this auction.

X2 about parking cars in the grass & weeds.
Mostly junk after about 8-10 years in the weeds. Frames seem to rust just as bad as the body sheet metal.

If you have a little time to kill, go to google street view maps. Enter Pierce NE, find the golf course NW of town, click satilite view, zoom in on the grove of trees on the east side of the golf course. The photo view looks to be several months ago. It's like where's waldo, how many cars can you count in the trees????
