i need some suspension ideas
i need to get rid of air shocks on back of car and want to replace the springs with some stiffer ones and im trying to get the rear end up a little higher than stock.
for the front i want to drop it 2 inches and need stiffer springs.
i need some ideas for springs, shocks, and bigger swaybars for front and back.

Re: i need some suspension ideas
OK. I don't normally recommend JCW, but I had these on my 76 for a couple of years. Because they were designed for earlier models to lift 3-4", they only lift ours 1 1/2 - 2". At least it did mine. This isn't because of the weight difference, but because G3s have longer rear springs. I still have them lying around somewhere I might post pics if I can find them. They will definitely stiffen up your ride & make great drag springs IMO:

I don't know about springs for the front, but the rears worked great.

Re: i need some suspension ideas
Get rid of the air shocks and get some helper coil shocks. Any chain will have them and they'll stiffen up the rear as well as bring it back off the sagging springs.... easy as pie.
As far as the front... if you want it stiffer too, start cutting.

Re: i need some suspension ideas
Well, they wont raise the rear much but they will add stiffness like air shocks. Air Bags,
These are expensive, I think theres another company that makes them as well and they are only $70 bucks

Re: i need some suspension ideas
i use the air ride bags in the rear. put them on to adjust my suspension, for drag racing (without them/ or a sway bar, it will leave the starting line uneven... with most of the weight of the car on the pass. side rear tire...this makes the car inconsistent, because it has the tendency to spin the drivers side rear tire on launch) i put about 25 lbs in the passenger side, and about 10 lbs in the drivers side bag. as for leaks, ive had them on the car for at least 12 years without any problems.

Re: i need some suspension ideas
when i wanted to jack up the back of my Monte to clear the 275/60's on the slots, i put in the rear springs i had kept out of the 92 Caprice cop car i had parted out. they boosted the rear of the car up about an inch or so and gave it just the perfect 70's poser rake without giving up any ride quality or handling like air shocks do.
station wagon springs are also good for this, as well.
