I'd like to see the current SS in a coupe version. Maybe down the line they will, who knows.
Looks more like one of the Holden Caprice cars to me, unless your talking just about the power-train.

The whole chassis platform is suppose to be the same for both cars. JB

Re: New Chevy SS
The old Camaros were cars that young guys with a half decent job could afford. Now it's for folks that have 35 grand to spend on one.
I do like the newer/recent Camaros,...to bad I can't justify another summer car !

They arent exactly the same . Some stuff is similar but stuff like the control arms dont interchange. It is the same as the cop car. Although the overall length is different.

Dosent matter ,you can finance for 8 friggin years now,I think thats why cars cost so damn much. No one finishes paying for them just trade em in and keep payin.

8 years?!!!
That's half a mortgage. Big interest too I bet to finance for that long.

Re: New Chevy SS
Everyone is hanging out there with long debt these days. I drive older cars these days, so I don't have those wopper car payments anymore ! Good example: I'm still driving the '92 Chevy pickup that I bought new. Hey, it's just broke in !! Only 268 k miles on it !! And the wife's Buick Park Avenue Ultra is a '93, with "only" 90 K miles !

Re: New Chevy SS
Thats the nice thing with FI . I think it helps the motors last longer since you dont have things like rich conditions washing down the cylinders.

X2 on the FI thing. Even the throttle body was a big step forward.

Efficient window defrosters and delay wipers are nice features new cars have also.

Which are just two of many things that you can get now that weren't available back then. If you can mate the modern technologies and conveniences of today with the sexy styling from back then, you have an instant winner -- as evidenced by the fact that every 3rd car around here is one of the new Mustangs, Camaros, or Challengers. The tech is all there, the design departments just need to get their butts in gear.

I'm never buying another brand new car again. Total waste of money when you think about it. Plus the big @$$ payments will hurt my restoration budget.

Couldnt say it better myself.Let me add that they sell the car for close to the window sticker if not the wndow sticker too. No incentives at all. Says something.
