rear armrest panls
What are the side panels along side of the rear seats called ? They have arm rests built into them. Those panels in my Malibu are a bit pitted & crumbly, from sun light I believe.
Would like to find a pair (1974 Malibu Classic) that are still smooth etc. I can paint them to match.

I have them in different colors.
So you just need the plastic part? Not the vinyl part!

Vinyl should be under window above armrest. It and the armrest are attached to the plastic. Plastic part is next to lower seat and goes up along back seat.
73-77 are/should all be the same.
I too will get a pic of what i have out. In barn somewhere. lol

These? Mine is a 77 & all plastic. I think the Montes have a plastic piece that can be removed.
I'm sure there is an official name for them (I call them rear seat armrest panels)

So which G3's had a pad? My 77' Chevelle lower 1/4 trim was all plastic but the panels I removed from a 73' 442 to replace them have padded arm rests. Is it a 73' thing or just higher trim G3's?

Re: rear armrest panls
By the way Bill you are welcome to mine for free + shipping if you want them. They have some scratches & one is painted black with my feeble attempt @ a repair but if you want them let me know- there is no dry rot on them. I was trying to just cover the scratches/gouges & the repairs on the painted one "stick-out" a little. I was eventually going to try & "file" the grain back into the patched areas with some mini files I have but I scored a nice set that a member here was trying to get rid of in the midst of it & for the price he wanted I just scooped them up to save time. I think with a little work & the right tools & repair methods they might be OK & I know you've got the skills.

I think the notch-back cars panels are shorter. The ones I posted will fit all the slant roof cars. As far as pads vs all plastic- I wouldn't even guess but I bet there's lots of part #'s & styles though all the GM divisions.

Re: rear armrest panls
Difference is the distance to the Package Tray I guess & the long skinny piece in the front on mine (plus the pad)...All the other contours seem the same. I wish the Chevelle one's were padded though- I would have had a lot less damage. That pad is a rubber material & fastens though to the other side, right?

Is the door jam trim all one piece together on that? and no padded arm rest?

Re: rear armrest panls
Correct. No pad just textured vinyl & the door jamb trim is integral to the unit.

I know there are slight differences between models, I get the plastic arm rest since the Monte was the "luxury" model, but the jam trim is an odd one!
