taking out my dash
these instruction suck but its the best i can do i completely forgot about this thread until now..did this work like a year ago
-Do NOT remove your steering wheel it will be useful when pushing the steering colunm back into place!
-remove the front seat...im small and i should still have removed mine. it will make it best to get under the dash
-remove all stereo parts in the front of the car
-remove the plastic trim on the pillars and the lower kick panels
-remove the lower section of the dash..cover under the steering column.
-remove the front cover of the guage cluster..makes it easier to see behind the dash

Re: taking out my dash
there are two large bolts holding the steering column up. remove them and let the colunm drop down
-remove the large dash frame bolts located on each side of the dash bottom (above kick panels)
-remove the bolts on the top of the dash near the windshield
-there should be 5 smaller bolts i was told but mine was only the two so if your stll on then look for those bolts.
dash SHOULD be able to come out BUT be very careful as your wiring and speedo cables do not streach very far so reach back and un hook the speedometer cables and the dash will be free enough to remove the other wires like the headlight harness. and when everything is loose take the dash out. you will have to press down on the steering column it will be tough to do but it will go.
be careful not to break the vents i broke mine and they wont go back in there is not fixing the mounts

Re: taking out my dash
so what did you do behind the dash for insulation? anything? I noticed the ac box/blower motor has some type of a gasket. mine looks like its shrank, and little leaves get in my interior.

i didnt put anything. just went to bare metal then 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of rustoleum. i was going to put some dynamat though later on. i also added a small brace on the botom of the dash for a little added strenght beause with all the heater stuff out it didnt seem as strong for some reason.

Re: taking out my dash
Are you moving the shifter from the steering column to the console? If you are/did, how much of a pain in the A$$ is it? I've got bench seats, but am debating on swapping to buckets with the console. I'm a truck guy, and miss having the bench seats trying to cram 4-5 people in the front seat.

Re: taking out my dash
I assume this question is for me. If not, I'm answering anyway (just incase). The shifter has already been moved to the floor by a previous owner. I hear it's not that hard though. He put in a B&M slap shifter, but I am going to take that out and go back to original.
