Re: My 75 Chevelle "ETHEL"
Those R both nice. Hard to wire them? Routed up the A pillars?

Actually wanted to do it that way, but the A-pillar is sealed at the top. Actually runs directly overhead of the driver and down the B pillar. The map lights and dome light will work on the stock dome light circuit, but the compass and temp module will require more:
• 2 sensor wires for the temp to run to the sensor up front behind the grille (obviously you'll want to get the sensor with the console if possible)
• + feed from fuse box for ignition on
• signal wire to headlight switch so it knows to dim the display when the parking lights or headlights are on
• ground (though you should be able to use the dome light ground)
Otherwise the compass/temp unit is self-contained. It's even self-calibrating: just drive the car around in a circle 3 times.

Picked up a set of pipes from a 73 el camino. 2-1/2" with 2 chamber flowmasters. Unfortunately he cut it up to get it out. But fortunately I can weld. probably going to have to shorten it a little anyways.

Re: My 75 Chevelle "ETHEL"
Ethel is taking a little vacation, back to my brothers carpeted garage. I have a friends Harley in my garage for a frame repair, and need the room. I dont think Ethel would like the sparks flying anyways. She's a grumpy old lady sometimes!

She's a heavy girl too, the truck looks like it wants to disengage the trailer!

Re: My 75 Chevelle "ETHEL"
Yah, I set her a little far forward on the trailer. Little too much weight on the truck, but I wasn't going far, so I left it. And she didnt go quietly. One flat tire, one dead battery, and tore my palm open on the door lock rod (just the threaded rod sticking out of the top of the drivers door)

Re: My 75 Chevelle "ETHEL"
And heres a long story short: I tried to do this last weekend, While backing up to my trailer I blew a brakeline in My truck. So I grab My brothers truck and a brakeline went in that too! Inside of 5 minutes! Needless to say I spent all day Sunday plumbing new lines in both trucks.

That'll teach you to take her away from home without you!

Re: My 75 Chevelle "ETHEL"
Really starting to miss Ethel. Seems like everytime I have free space it, gets taken quickly. I don't even realize I'm doing it either. On the plus side, with the car gone, I'm getting ready to cut the back wall open for a new garage door.(drive thru) Then I need to build a shed for all my non shop related stuff.

Had a mothers day cookout at my brothers house.(where Ethel is currently) And she appears to be living the life. Got a chance to sneak away from the family for a visit. Thats my brothers 87 monte ss in the background, under 3 covers.

Nice car! I LOVE that color. Is that a stock color or is it a custom mix? JB

Its from House of color. Kandy brandywine over a silver base. pictures dont do it justice. But you can see a few of his trophys and a his super chevy jackets in the garage pic. Was painted in '93 and it still looks fresh

Re: My 75 Chevelle "ETHEL"
Two things I'm looking for:
(1) A pair of 15x10 ansen sprint mags for the rear of Ethel.
(2) I'm trying to find a Pink Floyd 8 track. Just to have hanging out of the radio. Preferably before "Dark side of the moon". Meddle, Obscured by clouds, Atom Heart Mother......But I'll take what i can get. It doesn't even need to play. I usually don't run a stereo in my cars, I'd rather listen to the pipes. I've checked ebay but people think Floyd means $$$.

"ETHEL"
Kind of a pointless update. Was at My brothers today working on his Monte. Got a chance to get her out in the light.
