SPOILERS!!!!!!!
I would love to put a SE style spoiler in my mali. i bought a 77 Z28 spoiler for 20bucks to use as a start. the bad part is that it is 4in short on the deck lid and the endcaps look like there is NOO way to cut and past to my car. i remember some one talking about making fiberglass ones and someone who made a z28 one work.
any help and info would be great!!!

Re: SPOILERS!!!!!!!
I would consider finding the center and forming the missing 4 in the middle.

There are probably more threads on here too.

Re: SPOILERS!!!!!!!
I remember that, and yes i was planing on cutting and filling in the middle.
i need some advice, what end cap would work better. 70-73 or 74-77?

Re: SPOILERS!!!!!!!
Don't know for sure absolutely but I think the pic Limey posted of the black camaro is a 70-73. On the others the front end "grew" and the rear spoiler was thinned out, I guess it's all a matter of what you think would look best.

Re: SPOILERS!!!!!!!
I will get the details he sent me but you have to split them I will post pics later
From owner of black G3 Doctor Larry ::The center is just two camaro centers cut and spliced in the middle. The ends
were harder, so I took these pictures.

Re: SPOILERS!!!!!!!
Played w/ that pic...
Kinda like it better without the piece that overlaps on to the quarter panel. Just my personal preference but to each their own. Was the "SE" spoiler an available option for Malibu's or did the dealerships just do as Doc Larry did with spoilers from their stock?

Re: SPOILERS!!!!!!!
the SE option was a dealer subcontracted deal thru GM it just never caught on then the dealer that was making them went under Never to heard from again
Somewhere out there someone has the molds for these cars they WILL show up sooner or later

Re: SPOILERS!!!!!!!
If you like the looks of the SE spoiler, why doesn't someone reproduce them from an original spoiler. Any skilled fiberglass / carbon guy can make some molds from an original spoiler in a few hours. Then you can have endless numbers of this spoiler made, and they would be exact reproduction of the orignial SE spoiler.
BTW, the SE was a dealer installed package similar to what is done with a van conversion today. It was not a GM factory installed package.

i would love to do that let me walk out and get that SE spoiler............oh yeah they only made like 50........
and i plan on making a "new" one out of a 70-73 camaro spoiler once i read up on fiberglass more. and maybe i might make a blank and start selling them.
I thought some one was going to make one on here to sell.

trans am is different, the ends dont point toward the front, they just wrap around the rear. unless you are going for a different look....jared76 wrote:maliburacinfreak wrote:the ends on the black malibu pictured in this thread are 74-81. i have a set from a 79 id give you for shipping

Re: SPOILERS!!!!!!!
Sent in PM bro I dont mind making them from Z28's because it wont be the same, so have it and yes I know everyone wants the original one but I will not reproduce them.
And yes I know its NOT a factory option, But some one had to authorize it I dont know any one Dealer that would partake such a thing as far as cost wise ....... So my thoughts are that GM authorized it and then the dealer ran into probs getting the final License from them and GM pulled the Plug
