Too bad the bumper is bent down. Tailgating a little to close?switchbiker wrote:Clean Camino spotted at Wal-Mart this afternoon. The car behind it was pretty nice too! Same paintjob as my 74' I had when I was younger.

I totally forgot you are in Tucson, sorry! There are two Caminos that I see sometimes, both with Laguna front ends. I also saw a 73/74 blue cutlass a while back, had swivel seats.

Re: The Spotted Thread
That Elkie with the bent bumper probably totaled out a Toyota! Back around 1966 I had a 56 Olds 98 (it was a great car) and I hit a Volkswagon from the side of the Volks, but barely caught the last 3 foot of the car. It was like someone took a giant knife and cut off the whole back end. I took a kleenex and spit on it and wiped some red paint off my bumper and you would not know I hit anything. JB

Re: The Spotted Thread
this car is interesting to me as it is obviously a base model (lack of trim, grille, round headlights, chrome mirror, etc) but it had the small coach windows? I thought all base models had the large triangle windows. And those hub caps...really? No caps would look 100% better than those blue light specials. IMHO of course.77mali wrote:Seen better days but I spotted this one on Friday morning.

Re: The Spotted Thread
If there is one thing I've learned since owning my Chevelle; it's that there are no guarantee's. I've seen more than a few "Deluxe" models with both types of side windows. Who knows if that one's been Frankensteined by a previous owner or if one of the plants just ran out of the "correct" body/roof & just sent what they had down the line. They pumped so many of these cars out that it's anybody's guess.

I agree with that. Seems like whenever we think we have seen it all, another odd-ball comes out of the woodwork... Â

I believe the term you're looking for is "variety".

Re: The Spotted Thread
The move "Slapshot" with Paul Newman has a scene with four women seated in a dark blue station wagon (near and dear to my heart) of probably 1977 vintage...the rear windows have small swing-out quarter windows much like pickup trucks used to have.
There is also a student at our Great Lakes Maritime Academy who drives a light-blue Cutlass from our generation; I see it every now and then.

Re: The Spotted Thread
This was at the 2014 Cleveland autorama. Â The one thing I should have taken a picture of was that the hood was all louvered, which I've never seen done to a car this "new"Â

Re: The Spotted Thread
the pinstripe squiggle at the rear of the door is strange. was that car two toned? it almost looks like a darker shade below the pinstripe.

Re: The Spotted Thread
No it was all white, the pinstripe was a bit bizzare.

I see that car all the time! There is another one, brown and tan also with a Laguna nose. Could you please ask him if he has any other parts? I'm in need of some stuff for the 77 Camino I just bought.

Re: The Spotted Thread
I asked for black interior parts for you, I know u are looking for some. Said he might have some. He has a few parts, grills, trim, tail gate. . . . I was trying to get a hood but sold his last one about a month ago.

Just happened across this one online. Â I think the owner is a member or at least has other pics of his car on here. Â He races it on the ice and snow.
