I want too. I'm done with CA. I have no job right now anyway. I see as time to do something else.

Re: Anyone live near here.
Anywhere in the Midwest is going to be better than on the coasts as far as jobs & recession. The cost of living is cheaper in rural areas too. I just had a buddy & his family move to here in KS from Northern CA & he found a job before he even got on the plane. Apparently adjusting to the climate is taking him some time, but he's liking everything else. I'm assuming Texas would be similar.

Well since Texas is kinda my territory I guess I'll have to look into to it and see what's going on out in Rusk!

Re: Anyone live near here.
Well sorry to say it, but Rusk is just too small of a town to dig up any useful information for you unless you're planning to work on the Rail Road. From what I can tell it has a stable comunity but it's not likely to hold many new jobs, the most likely places in Texas were you're going to find good work is near a major metropolitan city like Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Houston, Austin, or one of the many surrounding subburbs like were I live. To be honest about the only area in Texas that is still blooming enough for you to move to and find work quickly is in the surrounding subburbs of Fort Worth, like mine for instance. My town happens to be growning faster now than before the recession, don't have a strait answer as to why but it is.

Re: Anyone live near here.
The Midwest is stable. At least this part is. Maybe it's due to having more than a dozen decent sized casinos & several manufacturing plants in the area. Next time you unwrap a fast food wrapper, think of Baxter Springs when you toss it because it was made here.

the out skirts of austin are great also, we own 300 acres outside of bastrop, disney just bought 1000 acres right across the street from us, and projected growth in that area is about 700% by 2020

KS = REAL Republican cowboys, wheat fields & concealed carry. God's country. It's legal to walk down the street in my town with a loaded six shooter on your hip. Even in the town's law books, although I've never seen people doing it.
