The Road Ahead
Whether the road is "less traveled" or "heavily traveled", looking ahead is fun ... most of the time. These are a few "road shots" I've taken; since I'm sharing different ones with different groups/boards, I may add more later....
Anyone else have shots of "the road ahead"?

Re: The Road Ahead
I'll have to look, but I do know that last picture. Nothing like stopping to look at scenery or just dazing off to the side of the road while you are on a trip. That's usually where you'll find the barn cars & other neat things buried/stored.

Re: The Road Ahead
I could post just one pic of western Kansas and it would look like everywhere else in the high plains. So I'll post a few to really bore you.
Decisions, decisions. Don't get bored and fall into a drivers trance or you may miss your turn.
The treadmill highway. You see the speedometer showing 60, then 70, then 80- nothing changes.
When you get directions using trees as landmarks, you could go for miles in one direction before turning!

Eastern KS isn't a whole lot better. But you probably know that. The worst part is the drive from Pittsburg to Lawrence. Cow, cow, cow, tree, cow, dead dog on the road, cow, etc. Other than passing through Ft. Scott, it's nothingness. Just the drive from Baxter to Pittsburg is boring enough.

Re: The Road Ahead
At least your cattle are spread out a bit.
When someone actually drives out here for the first time, the normal sequence of questions they ask is
1) How far was that?
2) OH MY GOD! What is that SMELL!?

Cort you did get that wrong where the last pic was located though. It's heading into Galena not Baxter, but very close!
