Hey Zucchi
Hey zucchi, Just wondering if you are effected by the fires out there or are you in a different part of the state? You can always flee to Ohio, although you will need a winter beater. The winters here in NE Ohio will quickly claim your Monte.

I was going to ask the same question. I believe zucchi is in LA but unless he is one of the rich and famous the odds are he is not in one of the areas most directly affected. But the situation is highly unstable there as far as I can see and the winds are continuing to be a problem through Friday at least.

Re: Hey Zucchi
Thanks for the concern, guys.
My home is comparatively far from the nearest fire currently raging. However, my place of work is only a few miles from the Eaton fire. Watch the left side of the video below which is date and time stamped.
The fire in the dashcam video was an isolated fire less than ½-mile from where I work. I wasn't too concerned that it would migrate it's way down to my workplace because there were a ton of emergency vehicles at that fire. Also, directly across the freeway is the Miller brewery… I'm certain they would do whatever it takes to prevent that place from burning down. Is was put out by noon.

By the way, you may need to click on the video two times (not double-click) to start it; it's embeded from my google drive.

Thanks for checking in. Is the smoke a problem where you live?

Re: Hey Zucchi
The aroma of wildfire smoke is in the air but the particulates are negligible where I live. However, some ash is falling where I work. To help bring some perspective, I live 23 miles from work.

Re: Hey Zucchi
Glad to hear you and your property are ok. I saw a late 60's mustang burning on TV and thought was there simply no time or no way to move it?

Re: Hey Zucchi
Because Los Angeles is the birthplace and epicenter car culture, and our weather is comparatively nice all year round, there are lots of classic cars here. Many enthusiasts have more than one classic and not all of them are in a state of immediate readiness. The areas that were/are affected are old affluent neighborhoods that were literally surprised by the swiftness of the firestorm. Those folks who have classics could only drive out with which ever one runs. Those who have more than one running could only drive out as many classics as there are capable drivers – i.e. can work a clutch.
I'll be going to my usual Saturday morning coffee & donut cruise tomorrow and I'm sure we'll all be talking about it.
