Re: THANK YOU
I also served for 6 years as a SAC Trained Killer, spent that time in a KC-135 - I flew around and passed gas for a living.

Re: THANK YOU
Thank all service members for our freedom.
I was an army brat for ~12-years (mother served).
Allow me the indulgence of sharing a little history… November 11 was the day the Armistice ending WWI was signed. It was initially focused on honoring the military dead of the First World War – the war to end all wars – and the return to peace. Since WWI was the first mechanized (airplanes, tanks, machine guns, etc.) war and it introduced poison gas, one of the purposes of Armistice Day was to recount the horrors of modern warfare in the hopes of preventing such a senseless waste of life in the future. Too bad it didn't succeed.
It wasn't until the mid-1950s that the USA changed the name to Veteran's Day.
Two-weeks ago, an old friend, fellow car club member and Desert Storm veteran (airborne) died. His battered body had been slowly failing for years and ultimately betrayed him but his spirit was indominable. We are suitably honoring him.
