Where to find 1973 Grand Am Part Numbers? Empty Where to find 1973 Grand Am Part Numbers?

Below are the books I've bought, but I can't seem to figure out the system for finding a specific part number. For instance, I've been looking for several options such as power windows and cruise control, and a replacement Rally Gauge cluster with tachometer. The Pontiac illustrations catalog does not show the part number. While the parts catalog is a list of parts/numbers, but there seems to be several options for the same year and part. Same with the Fischer and red Pontiac Service and Assembly manuals.

Then I find a few pages from a Mitchell Manual that the original owner must have given me. That seems to be the ticket. Illustrations have A, B, C, etc. from each part in the exploded view, then the associated part name and number right there. But the few pages I have are limited to body and chassis parts that would be damaged in an accident. Not optional equipment like power seats

I haven't spent time with the manuals, just glanced through them. Do I have what I need, or is there a different "magic book" with exploded view, part names and numbers all in one place that I need to chase down? Rolling Eyes

If Pontiac is anything like Chevrolet with regards to parts listings, they'll have parts for the "model series" then, if there are model specific parts, they'll be noted separately. For instance, in the Chevrolet books, the Chevelle series is the "A" body identifier and includes the Laguna, Malibu, El Camino, and Monte Carlo. In this example from a parts book, one rear upper control arm is used on the entire Chevelle series except for station wagons and Monte Carlos, hence, those models are listed separately:

Perhaps one of our Pontiac gurus could further elucidate us?

Thanks. You're seeing what I'm seeing. Maybe it will be clearer when I spend more time on it. I thought when I was trying to get a number for a gauge cluster rear shell (green) that was used with a tach there was more than one part number given.

The smaller numbers, 6.55, 5.35, etc. Do those refer to chapters or something in the illustrations catalog?

That's the suggested retail price for the part.

This table in the GM Fisher Body Factory Repair Shop & Service Manual 1973 indicates your car, an "A" body, is in the LeMans series:

When looking up Grand Am parts, look for LeMans. As mentioned before, any exceptions will be noted in the listing.

It can be a bit challenging to use the catalogs as there are thousands of parts. In zucchi's catalog pic you see the GM descriptor for the LeMans Grand Am as 2AH. This is the basic model designation. The numbers to the right 29 -37 are not a range but just the two numbers for sedan and coupe models. You will have to keep those in mind whenever you do part searches in the catalogs (particularly for body parts) because they are interspersed with all the other models in a part item listing under a subheading. The parts illustration manual only lists chapter and subheading numbers. That gets you to the relevant parts list in the separate Parts Catalog but you will then have to search through the subheading for your model's particular part.
