Happy birthday to my Chevelle

I just realized last Monday was my car's birthday!
Built September 25th, 1973 in Oshawa Ontario Canada for US use.
Shipped Sept 26th and delivered through Robert Uptegraff Chevrolet in Davison, Michigan.
Mom drove it four years and then I got it when she was done. Had it ever since!

September is a big month for me:
GTO was build Sept 18th, 1964
My red truck was built today, Sept 29th of 1986. That's kind of what precipitated this whole discussion.

By way of a super quick update - I did just get back from Indy over the weekend after participating in the NMCA "World Finals".
Took me a while to get my act together but Saturday morning everything started falling into place.
A couple observations that were pointed out to me:
a) 6th quickest overall, out of about 40 participants
b) Quickest Chevy in the class!
c) Marshall Myers: what were you doing? He had the 10 second bracket after two passes, and then gave it away. Oh well
I also went several rounds in my actual class, Nostalgia Muscle Car, and a couple rounds in the local bracket.
I'll do a more complete season update in a separate thread because there is A LOT to recap.

Congratulations on your long relationship with your Chevelle and your racing success! Very impressive. I have had my car a long time but am the second owner. I know it was built in August 1975 but don't have a specific date. How does one find that info? I think the build sheet got lost along the way.

Since my car was built in Oshawa I was able to get the information through GM of Canada.
If a car does not have that Canada connection (either built in Canada, or built in the US for Canadian consumption) then one is SOL.

Thanks for your reply. I suppose I will have to say August 29 1975 as that was the last Friday that month. I assume they did not work weekends then. So I will give my Belle a party next August 29.
