front grilles
Hello, I'm new to the group and thanks for having me on board. I wanted to know if you can make the square head light monte carlo car look like the round head light monte carlo car by exchanging the front grilles and can all mounting parts be interchanged?

Re: front grilles
Hey. First off, WELCOME! You have come to the right place. I was thinking about this exact topic last night. I like the 76/77 front end on a 73 rear end Monte. I think that you have to change the fenders as well as the grille. Someone will surly chime in ad let you know the complete process.. Good luck.

Re: front grilles
Fenders are the same. The rake of the front-end seen on 73-75 Montys is "masked" by the adjusted front on the 76-77. Look closely at this photo…
You can see that the fender still has the rake angle but the headlight assembly is vertical.

Re: front grilles
Thank you for your input Zucchi. I'm sorry but you're going to have be more descriptive in you're explanation for me, please. Maybe start off with yes it can be done or no it can't be done, not trying to be smart here with you either.

Re: front grilles
It can be done but you'll need ALL the front-end pieces; headlight buckets, grille, header panel, front bumper, fillers, etc. Note that the blinker and running light assembly on the early cars are in the front point of the headlight bucket whereas on the later cars, they're in the bumper and fender respectively.glenny49 wrote:…Maybe start off with yes it can be done or no it can't be done…
So, you'll also need the front fender lower trim to cover the hole.

Re: front grilles
Of course, you could always see about finding a Monte Carlo Custom Cloud…
These kits were built on 76-77 Monte Carlos.
