74 Malibu bumper tuck
Hey everyone,
Hope everyone is healthy!
Any tips on how to tuck the bumpers? My car is a 74 Malibu. I've been reading about drilling the shocks, bleeding the liquid out, pushing it in and welding. Would this work (is it a good approach), if so would it work for both rear and front. - if not how should I go about doing it?
Looking forward for the feedback.

Re: 74 Malibu bumper tuck
I had the guy who painted my car drill a hole and push the rear shocks in but the sides are not even. I bought some rear bumper tuck brackets that help push the bum from a member here, tropdeprojet, to install but have not done it yet. Not sure if the he still makes them but they are good quality. Few other members have installed them as well.
This thread has some measurements for some front brackets.

Your tail lights look like 1975. Is your car 1974?

Google ‘how to fix ugly 70s bumpers’. Hot Rod has a great tutorial on how to tuck and shorten a Laguna and Camaro bumpers. Great article!
