yes, the biggest dirt was already washed with a pressure washer.
when I get the frame rebuild, then those under work,
if I can't find a newer injection engine in a salvage car, but not flooding car.

That looks sleek and tidy.Finn Monte wrote:extra holes welded closed.
You probably know that those vertical slotted holes in the front and rear bumpers are for the bumper jack supplied with the spare tire in the trunk.
I would almost consider closing up the slits in the bumper for the jack on my Monte Carlo but then I would need to haul a floor jack everywhere I went in the rare event I needed to change a flat tire. A few years back, I actually did have to change a tire as I was preparing to leave work. Just a couple of weeks ago, I almost had to do that again; change a flat tire, that is. As I got ready to leave work, I noticed one of my tires looked low. I pressed on the sidewall and it felt softer than the other tires. Fortunately, it had enough air to get me home where I changed it, then took the tire to the tire shop for repair. The shop seemed taken aback that I had a full-sized spare.
Many modern cars don't carry a spare in order to reduce the gross vehicle weight, and those cars that do carry a spare have a space-saver spare commonly known as a "donut".

I know those holes in the jack. I have never had a spare tire in my summer car. the trunk has a small 12v compressor and a tire repair bottle.

Re: Monte Carlo -75
Or use a "scissor" jack like was used in cars American cars 20 years ago. Lighter . Compact .

Re: Monte Carlo -75
The trunk is equipped from the factory with mounting hardware for the bumper jack to be bolted down and immobilized. Carrying anything other than what the car was equipped with would require my reinventing the wheel. I don't mind improving the wheel but in this case, since it works, I ain't gonna fix it.

Re: Monte Carlo -75
The ones from an 80s GM full size car are compact and strong enough. More steady too. Ever try to change a tire with a bumper jack on the shoulder of a highway? Not fun. I did it on a 66 Toronado once. Two guys steadying the car one guy doing the work.

Re: Monte Carlo -75
Since i have different tires front to back ( narrow front and wide back) i have no spare or Jack. I have a little aircompressor and a bottle og tirefoam, sources from a new damaged vw. I hope that would be enough to get me home in case of a flat tire. And if it dosent work i have trible a on my insurence. You can have Road assistence included in the policy here in Europe. There is no Way im leaving my chevelle anywhere, if i have to spend the Night in it so be it. But the few times i had needs i had enough tools and junk in the trunk to limp me home.
The bumpers look good by the Way. Nice work. Henrik
