a local cobbler sewed it, he has "heavy duty" machine for it.

Good to know. I did a headliner about 10 years back and it came with rods and clip instead of the original plastic bows that GM used. It fit good but I'd much rather prefer the original setup. I'll see if I can find someone local to do it on my Cutlass this winter. Share some pics when you install your headliner. Love to see the results.

you have to wait at least 2-3 years for pictures of the headliner installation.

I removed the rear sway bar today. the control arms were rusted through from that attachment point. I ordered the Speedway Motors control arms and also the upper ones.
I took them without the bushing because I already have the energy suspension kit.

Those control arms should work well. I buy a lot of stuff from Speedway since they have way better customer support than Summit or Jegs in my experience.

I noticed these replacement control arms don't have provisions to accommodate the factory sway bar. I also see in your post a little further down that you refinished the front and rear sway bars, implying that you intend to reuse them.Finn Monte wrote:I ordered the Speedway Motors control arms…
Do you have a plan for adapting the rear sway bar onto the new control arms?
Have you considered upgrading the sway bars to slightly larger ones to reduce body roll? Perhaps 1/8" thicker in diameter?

I was thinking of welding the reinforcement to the place where the stabilizer is attached and then I will make the threads for the attachment. i think i use this original stabilizer.
these are still sailing somewhere in the Atlantic, because air freight from Speedway Motors would have cost more than $400.

however, I do it so that I put the pipes inside the stabilizer, that way I would get the bolts through the stabilizer.

If you can source a 9c1 code on tag ........1977 and Up Police taxi cab Impala Caprice or 1994 -1996 Impala in a salvage yard over there they will adapt perfectly and most are the Larger 1" diameter for the rear

those cars are more than rare here. it's almost impossible to find that.
there are regular Caprice station wagons and other similar GM brands, year 84-89.

idler arm did not come off with the puller in the picture.
I went to a local truck repair shop to provide heat with an induction heater.
a few seconds of heat and it came off.
I'll install the rebuild kit and hope it still works.

today I received these control arms, it took 2 months to arrive by ship freight.
