Was wondering if a 66-72 chevelle center console will on a 74?

Re: center console
I'm sure you could make it work. Take a look at the '73-'77 Buick Regal floor consoles...they have a similar shape to the earlier Chevelles. I've always thought the horseshoe shifters were cooler than the stick with a knob, anyway. I once found a complete Buick console/shifter and considered installing it...but, in a moment of weakness, ended up selling it.

Re: center console
understood. Thanks! / there are second hand ones on eBay for 73-77 but could not find new. Thought a brand new 72 console would be nice and fresh.

Re: center console
I just picked up a full 76 Laguna nose, set of 75 tailights, 2 marker lights and a set of opera louvres from a local guy (Ontario Canada), he still has a set of 76 bumper inserts and a console out of a 76 Laguna to sell. PM me if u are interested.
I do like the other option though.

Re: center console
I did a conversion on my chevelle from steering column to floorshift. The 70-72 console will work but i thought i did not look good. I looked out off place sort off. So i cut the backend off and sides. I used thin mdf board and made sides and a backend. I screwed it all together and had a guy put Black later on it. It Came out Nice i Think. The top part is a camaro lid and insert rest is 71 montecarlo wich is the same as chevelle

Re: center console
Of course there is light and cupholders in the room under the lid. And getting the shifter to work with the trans and wiring was not to bad. Just make sure you Get the neutral switch assembly with the shifter and the wiring that goes with it, then its pretty much plug and play.
