Dash Emblem
To the 73 SS guys, what does your dash emblem say? Chevrolet? Malibu?

Re: Dash Emblem
Mine says Chevrolet, I always wondered because I have the original dealers copy of my option sheet with my vin number on it. ( I think this is better than a build sheet because it gives all options and how much they cost) On the top line is Malibu package $138, farther down the list it says SS Equipment $245. So technically its a Malibu SS? I have never seen the a 73 referred to as a Malibu SS.

Re: Dash Emblem
Yes, for the SS coupe for 1973 it was a added to the Malibu model, so 1st 4 of the VIN for an SS coupe must be 1D37 for that year (the wagon and El Camino could be SS as well, but never a Laguna coupe 1E37 and never a Chevelle Deluxe coupe 1C37)

Re: Dash Emblem
It is weird though. The SS package HAD to be added to a Malibu, but the SS got the Chevrolet badge.

Re: Dash Emblem
Not trying to confuse the issue here. Just my 2Cents
I have owned 2 1973 SS cars in my lifetime. The first one i bought in 1974 from the original owner and it had the emblem that was approx. 4"
long with the Malibu logo with the woodgrain.
I also purchased my 2nd 73 SS from the original owner that one was about 15 years ago. It also had the 4" emblem with Malibu logo. Same idea but the Malibu lettering was a different colour perhaps due to the saddle interior. dash was shot but i still have that emblem somewhere

Re: Dash Emblem
Just an additional note: both these cars were made in Canada
