Chevelle Roof & Belt Line Stripes?

So I'm surfing the web & I run across this:

I always thought 73 Chevelles had the stripes running down the bottom of the car along the sides.
Guess I've never seen an actual car with this stripe although it would give a vintage vibe to the car. Is this like a separate option or did it come on certain packages? (SS or maybe Laguna)

this stripe option was originally available only in the 1973

Theres an old guy not far from here with a 73 in nice shape and its got the stripe on the side with the chevy emblem. That guy never leaves his car when his wife goes in the store.

Limey, after I saw the graphic I figured that was the deal. What about the stripes along the bottom that are normally seen on 73's? Like this:

How did GM determine which stripe was applied to what vehicle? After looking around I'm beginning to wonder if the SS got the lower stripes & the Malibus or maybe even Lagunas got the Phoenix Graphix style. I can't find any proof of these stripes even existing other than their website so IDK.

that stripe is for the SS only and the other was offered as an option for 73 deluxes and very base models

Thanks for clarifying Limey, I kind of figured that was the deal. Ant, definitely get some pics. I'd like to find a decent stripe to break up the solid color myself...... one of these days.

When im in that town I'll try to get a picture. I see that car kind of randomly
its dark red with a white top and has the stripe in white .Its a 73 and in really nice shape too.

dude thats it thats the stripe limey is gonna get i have seen them forever in the catalogs but hard to envision on a car............ lime green with that stripe in black and no chrome what so ever cept on the laguna snout ( dont wanna destroy that )

This is a very old thread but there are few on side striping. Are all the side striping vendors history? I lost a belt line stripe on my 76 rear quarter due to repairs and I can't find anything for replacement.

Just for the record I am showing pics of the belt line striping on my 76 Malibu. About 10 years ago it was no problem to get someone to put on replacement stripes after body work or painting took them off, But it seems they have disappeared in the pandemic as the body shop never found stripes or a striper a year and a half ago.

them look like Pinstriping tape that someone custom did and they are junk when they come off for paint and have to be reapplied, or find a good Pinstriper in your area and show him your Pics

Yes they are pinstripe tape but as I noted above, the pinstripers seem to have disappeared in the pandemic. Maybe they will come back soon. It's a bit tricky with the loop as opposed to a single stripe. Do people here use something other than this tape? I would think it difficult to paint on a thin stripe like that with a stencil.

If was me I would get the dual stripe one from Parts store and where it comes to point cut the top one at an Angle to meet the bottom one
Practice with a roll of thin line masking tape first that way if you mess up its just tape when you feel comfortable with it the outcome lay it down
