My 1974 Buick Century Luxus
Hi I'm Brenda074!
My Husband is Tom77 with the Malibu Classic 77 red with Flames. He has a picture of My new Project Buick Century Luxus 74. You can Visit us on UTube under Americaniron Addicts. So far The color must GO! I hate the color Green! So far I think the Carpet will be Black and I'm thinking about Silver Matalic with maybe a Black racing Strip to minimize the Green Color. I will have. 455 Big Block with a Shift kit. I want Mags not sure what kind. Like Tom said, Looking for Some ideas what would you do if you had this awesome car!
Can't wait for warmer weather to start cleaning the inside and working on it!

Welcome Brenda, to a great place ! Which engine is in your Buick now ? I've owned a few Buicks, and still own one, a Park Avenue Ultra. I don't remember the Luxus model..
Have fun with it !!

Thank you Bill! There is nothing but open space in the engine no trans either so it's perfect, nothing to take out. We haven't heard of a Luxus either we looked up this type and it said there was only approx. 6000 of these made.

Thank You! I can't wait to see what it's going to turn into also, there are things you want to put on the car but it just doesn't work out the way you intend. 80s? I'm jealous! Can't wait til winter is done.
Have a Great Day!

Re: My 1974 Buick Century Luxus
Hi and welcome. You have a Nice car. Not Many left, i remember as a kid a yellow with white interior. It had the rear up High and cragars, red rear axel and blue frame. In the 80s it was all about color here in Copenhagen anyways.
I would Think about classic cragars or maybe a western turbine, and as others Said the weld prostar is a cool rim to. Im pretty old School and i dont like the Big 19-20 modern setups, but thats just me.
Also colorvise, i know you Said you hate green. But i would consider a wery Dark green pearl color. Anyway it is a cool car.
Regards from Europe.

Re: My 1974 Buick Century Luxus
Welcome to the site, Brenda! I'm very interested to see which direction you go with this project. I was kind of thinking the same with the dark green and maybe some subtle black graphics. Green doesn't have to be ugly...just certain shades. Besides, green is making a comeback. I know this is a '71 GS, but what a cool color combo!

BTW...there are at least two '74 Luxus Buicks sitting in a salvage yard I often visit.

Check out this 6 minute 1974 Buick dealership training video on the Century's. They get into the Luxus about mid way through when they are describing the interiors.

The Buick Century 75 was my very first car in the early 80s loved that car. It's wasted with a landu top white interior. As we speak Tom is separating the trans from the 455 to sendit in for a rebuild. Trans turbo 400 will be a rebuild also. Tom is teaching me auto Machanics and reservation along with whatever comes along. 😀

Let's do that! I am really anxious to wipe down the inside I will wait to decrease the engine compartment until it's warmer. 😀
