What I meant was you'd simply have a non-functioning upper right side vent. Otherwise, I don't recall there being any other issue if you used your existing duct work and heater box.

My apologies, I totally forgot about the vertical register in the upper dash on the passenger side. I m not firing on all cylinders today.

Some years back, I saw a dash on the El Camino forum. that had been covered with vinyl (?) or leather. Anyway, it had a stitched seam running across it, on the top edge facing toward the driver, like we would see in a Caddy or other high buck car. Doesn't sound that great, but it looked great ! Seems like it wouldn't be that difficult to build/modify one like that...
This one was a saddle color, and was impressive !

No sense in searching forums for pics now, thanks to photobucket. I found two leather dash pics in my local folders. I don't know whose they are, but they are probably toast now in their original postings anyway.
